The Generosity Effect: A 30 Day Experiment

My wife, Jenna, and I own a small business that is growing faster than we can keep up and the chaos and stress of our daily lives has really been taking a toll the last few months.  Most days are pretty busy from morning to night and I am finding it increasingly hard to focus.  I feel like I have become increasingly self centered as I focus on the business and attempt to keep my sanity.

The idea behind this experiment is to do one act of kindness/generosity everyday for 3 days and record the experience.  Some days may be something small while others may be relatively expensive or time consuming.  There are no real guidelines, I simply intend to keep my eyes open and try to focus more attention on the needs of others rather than my own.  I will blog each day about my experience and how this effects my focus and stress level in the coming month.

Philippians 2:3-4 New International Version (NIV)

3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
